Why Bill Gates bought Heineken shares

Microsoft founder Bill Gates bought two stakes in Heineken brewing company (one privately and the other through his charitable foundation) for a total of $ 902 million.

According to Bloomberg, Gates now controls 3.8% of the group’s shares.

Apparently, the shares were bought from the Mexican soft drinks corporation FEMSA, which got rid of all Heineken shares it owned.

Heineken is a Dutch brewing company, the largest in the country and the second largest in the world (after Anheuser-Busch InBev). The headquarters is in Amsterdam. The history of the company dates back to February 15, 1864.
