Powerball lottery winner Edwin Castro has purchased a mansion located next to the homes of Ariana Grande and Jimmy Kimmel in California.
The Guardian writes about this.
Edwin Castro, who won the largest Powerball jackpot in history in November and received $2.04 billion, spent $25.5 million to buy a five-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion in the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles. It was the most expensive real estate sale in the Hollywood Hills this year, according to the Times.
Among the amenities in the new Castro house are a swimming pool, a cinema, a wine cellar, a game room, a steam shower, a gym and a sauna. Initially, $30 million was asked for the house. The deal was closed on March 1, two weeks after representatives of the California lottery publicly disclosed Castro’s identity in accordance with state law.
Castro bought a lucky ticket at a store in California. It brought him a jackpot of more than $2 billion on November 8. Instead of receiving the money gradually over 29 years, he chose an immediate lump sum payment of more than $997.6 million.
